The Military Channel , a sponsor of the GI Film Festival presented the documentary "Veteran Nation" its award for the festival which best represented the mission and values of the cable-televison network.

Veteran Nation is a sweeping and inspirational story honoring the courage and heroism of our veterans from Bunker Hill to Baghdad; the treatment of veterans throughout the history of our country; the challenges facing this generation of veterans; and how the American people can best serve those who have served.

Jim Carafano , one of the executive producers of Veteran Nation, was also featured in "Bullet Points" a documentary series currently featured on The Military Channel.

The GI Film Festival is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the stories of military veterans past and present. The GI Film Festival also promotes the creative work of military veteran filmmakers and helps train members of the U.S. Armed Fores for success in the entertainment industry.
